Picture show both styles of Captive Rings we have. The ring in the back is the tension style. The ends are rounded off and the ball is dimpled and is held in place by the tension of the ring. The image to the front is the snap fit style. The ends are cut flat and polished down and the ball slides in and out. These have a very snug fit but don't require tools to take the balls out.
