Painful Pleasures, Inc. :: Elementals Collection and Bali Navels

Elementals Collection and Bali Navels

Origins of Our Elementals Collection

Hiking through the hills of Bali on a winding path, our guide suddenly stops. We are standing a top one hill of the most beautiful valley we had ever seen, looking down on a small villiage. We were almost there after a 24 hour plaine ride, 6 hour bus ride and a 5 hour hike. The viliage (DESA-BAN) where our Elementals line was originally handcrafted was just an hours hike away.

We were welcomed with a big feast; spit roasted pg, baked duck, and the native fruits and drinks. After eating and enjoying the local tribes ceremonies, we were lead to our sleeping quarters, in a thatch roofed compound made of mud and stone.

In the morning we were taken to the craftsmen who were going to make our exquisite line of body jewelry, The Elementals Collection.

It was amazing to see how much time and energy is put into each piece. The Balinese people are very creative and this shows in our collection of jewelry from Bali.

Our Bali Navel Line is created in a town called Chaluk

Basic Guidelines for Natural Organic Body Jewelry

DO NOT put Natural Organic Body Jewelry in fresh piercings. Natural Jewelry is shipped Non Sterile (never worn) and should be cleaned before wearing. Natural Jewelry should not be exposed to water (including bathing and swimming), sunlight, extreme temperatures for a long period of time.

Taking Care of Wood Jewelry

Wood jewelry can be cleaned with a damp cloth and then dried. You can also clean wood jewelry with tea tree oil or jojoba oil. . Be sure that you DO NOT soak your wood jewelry. If you soak wood jewelry it may swell.

Taking Care of Bamboo Jewelry

Bamboo absorbs water through the inner layers. The outer Shell of bamboo is water resistant. Do not get Bamboo jewelry wet as this may result in damage to your piece. You can polish with tea tree oil or jojoba oil.

Taking Care of Bone and Horn Jewelry

Both can be washed with a damp cloth and mild soap. You may just want to use a little tea tree oil or jojoba oil to polish these materials. DO NOT soak these materials as it may swell.

Horn
Horn jewelry can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Once every few months (depending on how often you wear the jewelry) you should rub a tiny amount of jojoba oil into the jewelry to ensure that it remains in good condition.

Bone
Bone jewelry doesn't require much care, but to ensure a long life of your jewelry, rub in a a small amount of tea tree or jojoba oil. Be careful not to drop the jewelry.

Taking Care of Stone, Fossil, or Obsidian Jewelry

Clean with water and mild soap and then polish dry. Avoid using extreme temperature water as this could damage your jewelry.
