CAPTIVE BEAD RING (CBR) - also known as a ball closure ring (BCR) - is a ring used in body piercing where the bead is held in solely by the spring pressure of the metal.
These are the most common type of body piercing jewelry.
A CBR is opened using either hand pressure on smaller gauges or using ring opening pliers for heavier rings.
