Did you know that Painful Pleasures now offers custom business cards through our Print & Design Center? You can currently choose from three Limitless custom business card options: 2″ x 3.5″ traditional rectangular business cards, 2″ x 3.5″ rectangular business cards with round corners, or 2″ x 3.5″ oval cards custom-printed with your business logo and contact information. Each card will feature a design you send us or one we’ve created for you, if you choose our Hourly Rate design option, and it will be printed on high-quality card stock using only the best ink. Whether you need cards to promote yourself, your tattoo studio or another business, you’ll find that our custom business cards will make a bold statement.
How to Order Custom Business Cards
If you’re interested in purchasing custom business cards to promote yourself or your business, you’ll first need to decide between our traditional, rectangular with round corners and oval business card options. Next, you’ll either need to send us the information you want printed on your cards and have us design your business cards for you or create your own graphics using our business card templates as a base. If you’re designing your cards yourself, visit the “Business Cards” section of our Product Templates article and look for the style card you wish to order. You’ll see that you can download the base template in EPS, AI or PDF format, as well as with a vertical or horizontal layout. Download the template you wish to use, and open it in a graphic design program like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
After opening the file in a graphic design program, make sure the DPI (Dots Per Inch) setting is 300. Some programs, like Adobe Photoshop, tend to default to 72 DPI, which is the standard resolution for web graphics. It’s important to change that setting to 300 DPI to ensure the highest-resolution print job possible. Although we can work with smaller graphics when necessary, we encourage you to use only high-resolution graphics to ensure that your business cards print as sharply as possible. If you need additional guidance, check out our helpful Understanding Photo Image Sizes and Printing Color: What Does 4:0, 4:1, and 4:4 Mean? articles.
Once you’ve opened your chosen file and adjusted the DPI setting as necessary, note the “Non-visible Area” indicators on the template. These lines show you where your art may be cut off once your business cards are printed. We encourage you to use either a white background or full bleed graphics, which means extending your background to the edges of the template, beyond the “Non-visible Area” lines. Just know that the outer edges may be trimmed off when we cut out your custom business cards, so you don’t want any important information to overlap those lines. If your name, business name, phone number, and other contact info is within the indicated borders, it will show in its entirety on your completed custom business cards. Your design can include a photo, graphic logo, contact information, website, social media handles, and/or any other information you’d like in full color or black and white.
When finalizing your custom business card design, it’s best to save the file as a JPEG or GIF. You can then place an order for the style of business cards that coordinates with your graphics file. When ordering, be sure to select the number of business cards you want us to print for you, your desired paper weight, and the type of coating you want us to use (for traditional and rounded-edge cards only). If you choose our rectangular cards with rounded corners, you’ll also need to choose the radius you want for the rounded corners. After making your selections, add the product to cart, checkout, and then email your graphics to support@painfulpleasures.com, Attn: Graphics Department. If your file is too large to email, you can request instructions for using our FTP site via an email to Support.
