How to Use Pigment Colors By Dr. Lisa Z. Lam (MP= Micro Pigment DD= Double Drop Pigments ML= Magic Line) BioTouch pigments can be mixed to match your client’s skin tone for eyebrows, eyeliner and lip liner. Follow these general guidelines before using: • Do not mix pigments of different brands. • Shake well each time before use. • Never touch pigment bottles or pigment containers with contaminated gloves to prevent cross contamination. Eyebrow Colors Chocolate Brown (MP): Use on medium to dark skin-toned clients. Add Light Brown to achieve a softer look. Add Red or Orange to prevent fading to gray or blue. Coffee Bean (DD): Great for brows on auburn and redheaded clients. Add Olive to neutralize if needed. . Dark Brown (MP): Ash base. Lighter than Chocolate Brown, can be used on all skin tones, but mostly used on medium brown skin tones. Add Orange or Light Brown to produce a more natural look. Deep Brown (DD): A deep rich brown. Use with Midnight Black for a dark brown eyeliner. This mixture is good for dark skin tones. Espresso (DD): Darker than Deep Brown for dark skin tones. Add orange to prevent color from turning too dark. Brown (MP): Mostly used on redheaded clients because of the warm, red tone base. If the skin has a lot of yellow tones, this color will create a warmer brown tone. Golden Brown (DD): The lightest brown available in the Double Drop line. Good for blondes and light skin tones. Add Taupe to prevent color from fading to Orange. Light Brown (MP): Gold-based brown used for light skin tones. Add Yellow or Taupe for a more blonde look. Mocha (DD): A dark blonde color good for light to medium skin tones. Use with Purple Corrector or Olive to create an ash base and neutralize warm tones. Raisin (DD): A red-based brown. Add Rose Red for a neutral color or Blush for darker tones. Taupe (MP): Yellow-based color for blonde hair and fair skin clients. Also used to enhance or lighten eyebrow tones. Gray (MP): A good match for people with salt and pepper gray hair. Add Taupe or Light Brown to lighten, or mix with Dark Brown for light to medium brown skin tones. NOTE: All eyebrow pigment colors can be mixed to obtain different tones. To prevent eyebrows from fading to Orange, Pink or Purple, add a drop of Taupe, Olive or Purple Corrector to the desired brown tone. For hair strokes, use one shade darker than the required color. Eyeliner Colors Espresso (DD): A dark rich brown. Mix with Black for dark brown eyeliner. Chocolate Brown (MP): Cooler than Espresso for people who have gray eyes and want a soft eyeliner look. Blue (MP): Pure blue color. Mix with Gray or Taupe and add on top of black eyeliner for a soft blue shadow. Green (MP): Mix with True Black or Espresso for people with green eyes. Mix with Taupe, Gray or Brown for different tones of green eye shadow. Black (MP): A soft black eyeliner. Add Orange or Blue Corrector to prevent fading to blue. Jet Black (MP): Carbon based, our blackest black. Add Orange or Red to prevent fading to blue. Special formula for soft black eyeliner: One drop of Jet Black + one drop of Midnight Black + one drop of Fire Red. Midnight Black (DD): Not the darkest black available, but needs a complementary base of Fire Red to maintain true color. Ideal for clients who want soft black eyeliner. True Black (ML): Specially pre-mixed to achieve very dark, yet matted-looking eyeliner. Add blue eyebrow corrector or jet black as needed. Wet Black (ML): A pre-mixed color ready to use that makes black eyeliner appear very dark and glossy looking. Lip Colors Blush (DD): A soft, earthy red color. Mix with Rose Red for an even softer color; darken with Mystic Red, Raisin; lighten with skin or Magic Color. Rose Red (MP): Neutral soft rose color for fair to medium skin tones. Mix with Pink Mauve for rosier pinky lips. Darken with Mystic Red. Japanese Red (MP): Neutral Soft Red, add Dark Red for a darker lip liner; add Hot Pink to highlight pout area. Mix with Skin to soften. Mystic Red (DD): An earthy brick color for medium to dark skin tones. Lighten with Rose Red. Add Orange to neutralize the blue undertone. Real Red (MP): True red lip color. Add Orange for darker skin tones to maintain brightness. Red Wine(MP): Dark Mauve lip color. Add Orange to prevent from turning too dark. Dark Red (MP) Dark earthy red lip color. Add Orange to prevent from turning to blue on darker skin tones. Pink Mauve (MP): Soft pink lip color for fair to medium skin tones. Add White (with caution) for a brighter pink or to highlight pout area. Strawberry (DD): A rich, coral color. Ideal for clients who love orange, bronze and similar warm tones.. Burgundy (MP): A deep berry lip color. Add Strawberry to prevent from turning to blue on darker skin tones. Sunset Orange (MP): A soft orange red lip color. Fire Red (DD): An intense and vibrant red for a range of skin tones, from light to dark. Add Orange to maintain brightness on darker skin tones. Cranberry (DD): A dark berry color. Add Strawberry to neutralize blue tones. Pink (DD): A soft, gentle pink that will fade to a very natural, almost nude shade. Mix with Rose Red for added depth. Hot Pink (DD): Goes on bright but softens to true pink. Mix with Japanese Red for added vibrancy and fade resistance. NOTE: All lip pigments can be mixed to obtain different colors. Add Orange or Strawberry for medium to dark skin tones to prevent color from turning to blue. The darker the skin tone, the more Orange is needed. Full lip fill-in is possible for very dark lips, but will need more than two touch ups. Corrector Colors Yellow (MP): Lightens dark brown colors: change eyebrows from dark brown to a lighter tone. Taupe (MP): Neutralizes darker tones of orange, pink or purple eyebrows. Mix with brown colors to prevent color changes. Olive (MP): Neutralizes lighter tones of orange, pink or purple. Mix with brown colors to prevent color changes. Purple Corrector (ML): Use to correct purple, orange or pink eyebrows. Or mix with brown colors to prevent color changes. Orange (MP): Neutralizes darker tones of blue and gray brows and lips. For blue eyebrow correction don’t use alone—dilute with 10-20 drops of water. Add Blue Lip Corrector on darker skin tones to prevent lips turning to blue. Add to Black to prevent eyeliner turning to blue. Blue Brow Neutralizer (MP): Lightens and neutralizes blue-gray eyebrows. Also lightens lip and areola colors. Blue Brow Corrector (ML): Use to correct blue, gray or green-blue eyebrows. After corrected, the brow will turn to a brown tone. Blue Lip Corrector (ML): Used to neutralize blue or brown lip tones. Can be used alone as a lip color or mixed with another to prevent color from turning too blue, but is not strong enough for correcting very dark lips. Use Orange or Strawberry for very black lip correction. Strawberry (DD): Works as a great blue lips corrector. Use straight on blue-black lips or mix with other lip colors to prevent lips from turning to blue. Beige (MP): Camouflage and cover small mistakes for lighter skin tones (dilute with water 1:1). Mix with Skin, Magic Color or Taupe to darken and match skin tones. Skin (DD): A flesh color used to lighten and soften lip and areola pigment colors. Camouflage scars or eyebrow and lip mistakes. Dilute with water and mix with Beige or Taupe to match skin tones. Magic Color (ML): Use alone or mix with Beige or Taupe to match skin tones. This color blends well and leaves NO RESIDUE. Can be used on all areas for any type of camouflaging on eyebrow, eyeliner, lips and paramedical procedures (scar camouflage). White (MP): Lighten lip colors (use with caution!) Do not mix with brow colors and never use alone for camouflage!! NOTE: If eyebrow is too dark, color correction or camouflage is difficult. Fade 1-3 times (once every 6 weeks) until color is lightened, and then perform color correction and camouflage. Areola Colors Rose Red (MP): A neutral rosy pink color. Add Skin for a softer tone. Blush (DD): A soft earthy red color. Mix with Rose Red for a fresh look; darken with Raisin, or lighten with Beige, Skin or Magic Color. Raisin (DD): A brown-based red color. Add rose red for a more neutral color or blush for a darker tone. Mystic Red (DD): An earthy brick shade for medium to dark skin tones. Lighten with Rose Red. Add orange to neutralize the blue undertones Espresso (DD): A very dark rich brown for medium to dark skin tones. Add Orange to prevent color from turning too dark. Skin (DD): A flesh color used to lighten lip and areola pigments.
