Push pin jewelry, which is also referred to as push pop jewelry, push fit jewelry, or just threadless jewelry, is a popular style of labret jewelry. These threadless labrets make great jewelry for lip piercings, cheek piercings, nose piercings, and cartilage piercings.
Push pop threadless jewelry is incredibly easy to insert and remove from most compatible piercings, although our threaded 18g Nose Labret Kits make it even easier to insert labret studs into nostril piercings. The decorative push pin jewelry ends lock securely into their corresponding push pop labret posts even without threading to hold the two parts together. How does it work? Let’s take a look:
Push Pop Labret Threadless Jewelry Options
Before you can learn first-hand how to assemble your push pin jewelry, you’ll need to order the right threadless jewelry parts. You can either purchase separate push pop labret posts and push pin labret tops, or you can select one of the push pin threadless jewelry sets offered in our Push Pop Labret Posts section. If you like the idea of being able to change tops at your leisure to match different outfits or your mood, you may want to pick up a couple extra push pin labret ends. Once the push pin tops have been bent a few times to lock them into their coordinating threadless jewelry posts, the pins can weaken, so eventually you may need to replace your favorite push fit labret tops.
See the chart below for a few examples of the different styles of push pop threadless labret jewelry we offer, which ranges from threadless jewelry sets to separately-sold push pop jewelry studs and push pin jewelry ends. A Couple Notes… If you’d like us to autoclave any threadless jewelry sets, labret studs and/or push pin jewelry ends you order, we can sterilize them before shipping them to you for a small fee. Just add one of our “Sterilize My Jewelry” options to cart for each piece you want us to autoclave and send to you in a sealed bag. You can also purchase some of our soft, flexible silicone discs to place between the back of your threadless labret studs and your lip, cheek or cartilage to make our push pin jewelry even more comfortable to wear.
Assembling Your New Push Pin Labret Jewelry
The diagram below shows you step-by-step how to insert a push pin labret top into a threadless jewelry post and bend it slightly to lock it in place. The first thing you’ll need to do is insert the threadless labret post into your cheek, nostril, cartilage, or lip piercing. Once the labret post is in place, slide the push pop jewelry top halfway into the hole at the front end of the post. Bend the push fit top down gently to create a slight angle in its pin. Note that over-bending could make the jewelry too tight, so create a gradual bend, and then re-adjust the angle later as needed.
After making your first bend, pop the push pin top all the way into the threadless labret shaft and test the fit. If it’s too tight or too loose, unbend the pin slightly, remove the push pop end, and try again until you get the perfect fit.
